Weapons of Mass Production

Did  you hear the one about the army that doesn’t want any more tanks and the legislature that insists the army should keep buying them?

What kind of backward-ass, third world…?

Yes, the U.S. Army doesn’t want these tanks; and not buying them will save $3 billion. But 173 House members want to push them on the military anyway. Maybe they should tell them the first one’s free.

The theory is that the jobs created by manufacturing these behemoths will suffer if the Army cuts back on the purchase orders. So, instead, this kangaroo congress suggests it should pay people to work at a job to produce goods for which there is no demand.

Socialism: it isn’t just for healthcare anymore.
